Page Designer uses three building blocks: sections, columns and widgets. Understanding what each one controls makes it easier to create a tidy, responsive page.
Sections organise the page
A section is a horizontal area of a page. Use sections to separate an introduction, portfolio, services, testimonials and contact area into manageable parts.
Select + Add Section to add one. You can then control its layout and available settings such as width, background, spacing and height. Use a new section when the purpose or visual treatment changes; avoid creating a separate section for every sentence or image.
Columns arrange the content
Columns determine how the section width is divided.
- One column suits headings, introductions, wide images, galleries and forms.
- Two columns suit an image beside text or two related choices.
- Three or four columns can present short features, but need concise content to remain readable on smaller screens.
Choose the simplest arrangement that communicates the information clearly.
Widgets hold the content
Widgets are placed inside columns. They include text, images, banners, buttons, galleries, slideshows, forms, booking options, FAQs, video and other connected Workspace content. Print Shop Gallery can display a wider shop collection, while Print Feature can highlight a curated group of prints. When a visitor selects a featured image, Workspace opens it in your Print Shop so they can view the available products and purchase it.
Open a widget’s settings to choose its content and presentation. Save the widget, then preview the whole page to see it in context.
Build from structure to detail
- Decide what the section needs to achieve.
- Choose the column arrangement.
- Add only the widgets needed.
- Save the widget and section settings.
- Preview the page on large and small screens.
Keep the site consistent
Use Website Styles for site-wide fonts, colours and shared design choices. Use Page Designer for the content and arrangement of an individual page.
