How to create your first Test Project
- Go to Client Management in the main navigation and select Projects.
- Click Create Project.
- Give it a Name, e.g. Project #1.
- Add a Start Date and Due Date (if you wish).
- Click Save.
That's it! You're now in Edit mode with your new Project.
Start adding details
- Add a Contact, or create a new one.
- Click Add Selected to return to the Edit screen.
Note: You can add more than one Contact if you wish. If so, select one as the Primary Contact for this Project. You can also add a Client.
Add a Task
- In the Task section of the Project page, click +Add.
- Give the Task a name, e.g. "Prepare quote for Project #1."
- Select a Contact and add a Date and Time if needed (in the future!)
- Ignore the other Task details (unless they're useful).
- Click Save.
Note: The contact need not be the Project Contact (e.g. a vendor) or involve a Contact at all.
Add a Quote
- In the Quotes & Invoices section, click + Add Quote.
- Prepare the Quote as explained (normally addressed to the Project Contact).
- Click Save.
Add an Event
- In the Schedule of Events click + Add Event.
- Add a name, e.g. "Test Event", and a Date, Time and Duration.
- Ignore the other Event details (unless they're useful).
- Click Save.
Note: Normally the Event would be scheduled at a time and place agreed with the client.
Check out the Calendar
- Go to Client Management / Calendar
- Assuming you have included dates, your Task and Event should now appear.
Send an email
- In the Email History section click + New Email.
- Enter an email address and write a message in the normal way.
- Or Select or + Add a Template to utilise one of the pre-formatted email templates.
- Click Cancel or Send Email
Progress so far...
- You've set up a Project that will be edited and added to as it progresses.
- You've added your first Event and Task, and can add more as required.
- You've added a Quote, and can add or edit related Contracts/Agreements and Invoices in the same way.
- You've composed an email on the Project screen, which will be accessible on the related Contact and Client screens.
If you've created a "real" Project (maybe for a shoot coming up) this is the hub where you'll come from now on to manage the job.
